An Brog opened its doors in 1992 and since then has grown and expanded into Cork's leading indie alternative bar. It stays open now till 2am every night and as always admission is free. The DJ's play a mix of classic and up to the minute tunes which the punters love. An Brog also indulges those who want to see some live gigs all of which have been free since 1992. Bands to have graced our stage have included Boss Volenti, The Chalets, Duke Special, The Frank and Walters The Coronas, The Blizzards, Delorentos, Fight Like Apes and most local indie/rock bands.
Such bands included Rulers of the Planet, Rest, Wiggle, and 10past7. Locals have seen Circus Cat, When Good Pets Go Bad and a host of hot new talent play recently - keeping to the Brog's policy of supporting new bands. A host of well known faces have also popped in for a pint or six. Tommy Tiernan, Glen Hansard, Cillian Murphy, Johnathan Rhys Myers, Vince Vaughan, Michael Madsen & Vinnie Jones have all popped up at the bar at some stage. Although not on the same night!
