An Sugan ‘Seafood Bar and Restaurant’, a family run and owned business for over thirty years. An Sugan is the perfect place to get away from it all and relax by an open fire with a glass of wine and maybe a bowl of Fresh Bantry Bay Mussels.
Over the years An Sugan has become synomymous with West Cork and Clonakilty. Food is served all day in the bar with a menu that offers everything from An Sugan Seafood Pie to a Ballyburden Steak Sandwich. In addition, we have two private dining rooms that are suitable for all occasions from birthdays to anniversaryies, with a variety of menu's to suit.
Located adjacent to An Sugan in a beautiful Georgian house is our 7 bedroomed Guesthouse, which is a short stroll from the centre of town.
Our menu is full of choice and it changes everyday. All our fish are delivered daily from local fish suppliers. This can be anything from lobster to black sole on the bone to fresh crab salad. And our vegetables are all locally produced.
The seafood pie and the salmon & potato cakes are very popular. We also serve great succulent steaks and roasts, which come with delicious local potatoes and seasonal vegetables. And our lunch menu also includes lighter options such as fresh crab salad, west cork tapes plate, deep fried gubbeen cheese, seafood salad and much more.
We also make all our desserts in house. The sticky toffee pudding, apple pie and bread & butter pudding have all become house favourites. And we also bake our own brown bread every morning - the perfect way to start your day, with a bowl of West Cork cream seafood chowder.
