Andy's has been run by our family for over a quarter of a century. Ciaran along with eldest son Sean use only the finest locally sourced ingredients cooked simply with an innovative twist. Youngest son Kevin runs the ground floor Bar whilst daughter Aisling manages the Restaurant. As travel web site GoIreland.com recently described Andy's in their travel review: "Probably the most consistently awarded food & drinks emporium in Ireland". We have consistently won awards for all aspects of our business over the past 26 years for hygiene, bar and food. In 2008 we were awarded the Jacobs Creek Ulster Gastro pub of the year.
Andy's is quite special as four members of our family work in the business on a daily basis. It is our family policy that Aisling or Kevin are present front of house during every shift. We warmly welcome families and offer highchairs, booster seats and our ground floor lady's toilet is fitted with a baby changing station.
The ground floor Bar area is decorated in an elegant Victorian style recently renovated with private booths and luxurious leather seating with deep pile carpets. We have retained a beautiful open fire, once you sit down beside it you won't want to leave either!
We offer a private dining room that can accommodate up to twenty people. This dining room was recently renovated and is laid out in a long table / banquet style. It has proved very popular with christenings, birthdays and family functions. We can tailor menus in accordance to customer requirements.
Both Ciaran and Sean are members of Euro-Toques European Community of Chefs, which promotes locally produced food. Our menu is an eclectic bistro style mix of house specials and old favourites. Every week you are guaranteed something fresh and new with our weekly specials. We use locally produced ingredients cooked to order including Silver Hill ducks for Emyvale. Our menu is quality and value driven, as the majority of our main courses are priced under €16 including a side order.
All our steak are served with complementary sauces - we do not believe in charging extra for our sauces, including our locally renowned Monaghan sauce - that was created here in Andy's over twenty five years ago. Why not try our garlic mushroom another classic that has featured on our menu for many years. We strongly believe in freshness - even the chicken or bacon for a sandwich is cooked to order! Vegetarians are also catered for as we offer a number of vegetarian options. In 2008 we were the recipients of the Jacobs Creek Gastro Pub of the Year for Ulster. Prior to this we were the national winner of the TV3/Ireland AM Value Menu Award.
