Situated in the Heart of Kilkenny’s shopping area, Bollards Pub has been in the family since 1904. So while steeped in tradition and history, we offer a high standard of good food, drink and service to suit all modern day requirements.
Recommended by Best Food Guides, superb food is served all day. Car parking is available in the Market Yard on our back doorstep. We in Bollards Bar & Bistro pride ourselves in the choice of Irish premium whiskeys we provide and like to pride ourselves on our knowledge of the product.
Car parking is a major issue in Kilkenny and in Bollards we have the Market Yard on our back doorstep, a local authority car park, it has free car parking after 6.00pm till 8.00am the next day. We accept all major credit cards including American Express.
St. Kierans Street is Kilkenny’s only pedestrian street and we are lucky to be allowed, by the local authorities, to put out tables and chairs which create our Terrace and Smoking Areas.
Bar Food something we pride ourselves on and we use a lot of traditional family recipes. We have an exclusive room which we let out for parties and get togethers with full bar facilities.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
Bollards is in the City Centre and one of the nearest pubs to Dunnes Stores. We are on the only pedestrian street in Kilkenny and only a stones throw from Market Cross Shopping Centre, which boasts plenty of excellent shopping opportunities! McDonagh Junction, a new Shopping Centre with forty shopping units is only across the river, a ten minute walk.
We located a short stroll from Kilkenny Castle and St. Canices Cathedral. Rothe House is 100 yards away. Smithwicks Brewery, the home of Kilkenny Cream Ale is just down the road. We have a generous parking facilited (in the Market Yard) behind us so we're a perfect base from which to explore our medieval city!
