ABOUT US
M Bowe, Bar & Lounge was established in 1906 by Michael J Bowe, grandfather of the present owner Michael J Bowe and great grandfather of the present Manager, Michael Bowe Jnr, and it is the only fourth generation pub with the same family name in Thurles.
Frequented by all generations who often take a nostalgic trip of times past over a pint of Guinness, a coffee or a drink. As Bowe's is only two minutes from the main Dublin/Cork/Limerick train station many tourists arrive to locate their ancestors in Thurles.
You are always guaranteed a friendly face to serve the beverage of your choice as we pride ourselves on the friendliness of our staff.
Because of our proximity to Semple Stadium (5 minutes away), Bowe's is a renowned GAA venue and to many GAA followers over the years it is their mecca. Over the years supporters from Kilkenny, Limerick, Cork, Waterford and Clare have displayed an array of coloured jerseys and Munster final days are an unforgettable sight. "Slieve na Mon", the every popular Premier Anthem is always outnumbered by "The Banks" as the men from Cork arrive in droves from the train station.
During the Premiership Leqgue our support is with Liverpool and Michael Jnr, an ardent follower who runs trips from the pub to Anfield, gives many a rendition of "You'll Never Walk Alone".
The smoking hut which is very well designed and heated is quite an entertaining niche for those who require a "fix".
