Kenny’s Lounge is located in the picturesque village of Ballintubber, 19km from Roscommon Town and 8km from Castlerea in County Roscommon.
Ballintubber (Baile an Tobair) “Town of the Well” has been Fáilte Ireland's Tidy Town Winner from 1971 to 1985 in Co. Roscommon. Ballintubber has the ruins of the beautiful O’Connor Don Castle located in its midst.
Kenny's Lounge was built in 1965 by the late Fergus Kenny. He built Kenny’s Lounge on the site of an old apple orchard after transferring the licence from “The Ould Bar”, also owned by the Kenny Family.(Prop. The Late James Kenny, Fergus’s father). The “Ould Bar” is now a listed building RPS No. 03400475.
At present, Kenny’s Lounge is run by Eileen and James Kenny, Fergus Kenny’s son who is third generation in the bar business. Kenny’s Lounge is a family run business with a warm and friendly welcome for you, our customer. We trade normal bar hours and look forward to you calling for a pint of the black stuff served by a member of the Kenny family or staff.
Kenny’s Lounge is also very popular with the local G.A.A. club (St. Croans) and the local soccer club (Manor United) and also has a big racing club with the local race track in Roscommon just 19km away. So take a “Tip” from me and call to Kenny’s Lounge now!!
