Located in the town centre of Tubbercurry this premises has been licensed to different owners for over three generations. In a previous era it had an Undertaking business and people say there are still some "Spirits" left around the house. Today it houses old memorabilia of days gone by. The ceiling has plenty of antiques and farming tools hanging from it. An old churn is used in the summer to make the country butter for the visitors.
Inside in the function room you will see the famine pot. It dates back to the famine times and was used to feed those people who had lost everything they owned - it stands at 2ft high. You should drop in and step back in time the next time you pass through Tubbercurry. The welcome doesn't die on the doormat. Courtesy and service are still very much part of the Traditional Restaurant. You will get a welcome that you'll remember and you'll want to return again and again.
The Traditional pub is family-owned and operated and is located in Tubbercurry - the heart of Sligo - a great tourist area and on the main Belfast, Galway, Achill Route. The Pub/Restaurant is situated on the main street, so you just step in - there are no steps inside so it is very user friendly. Outside is the garden with a seating area and a smoking area, which is sheltered. Parking is located at the back of the premises. The function room, which can seat 150 guests, has a maple floor which is great for dancing The function room is separate from the public bar making it ideal for those private parties
