Description
Preachers is a custom designed themed pub situated in Temple Gate Hotel. The Hotel, family owned and managed, rests on the site of a 19th Century Convent of Mercy with a fascinating and eventful history.
Prior to it’s conversion to a convent, the building was the property of Charles O’Connell, cousin of Daniel O’Connell, a frequent visitor to the area particularly in the years 1827-1829 when planning his election campaign. The gothic style has been preserved throughout this townhouse hotel and is effortlessly combined with both elegance and luxurious charm.
Discreetly situated just outside of the Ennis Town Centre our guests can enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay. Preacher Pub has an inviting and friendly atmosphere, which both guests and locals enjoy. Regular traditional Irish music sessions ensure its continued popularity. Painted panelled walls and ceilings, beautiful chandeliers and generous drapes provide a truly unusual décor while a variety of snugs and intimate corners ensure our guests have a choice of either mingling or having a quiet chat.
An acclaimed bar food menu is served throughout the day. The history of the Temple Gate is most evident in the Great Hall where awe-inspiring stained glass windows transform natural light into a rainbow of colours. Vaulted ceilings and oak beams combine to create the most original venue in this region for Banquets, Wedding Receptions, Launches, Incentive Programmes and Themed Evenings. The spacious Great Hall foyer, which opens directly off the Great Hall is ideal for receptions associated with events in the Great Hall.
The hotel has been awarded the AA Rosette for the 11th consecutive year. This is awarded for excellence and is a true endorsement of the quality of our food and service.
Live music in Preachers Pub each Friday and Saturday night, it can also be arranged on request on other nights.
