About Us
Built over one hundred years ago, The Railway Bar was located beside the train station. The Station is long since closed but the Railway Bar is still thriving on the edge of Kells town.
The pub has three different bars under one roof, so you can do a pub crawl without leaving it! The Carraiges Restaurant has a solid fuel stove and lots of railway memorablia and other Irish antiques.
The Snug (we call it the middle bar) has an open fire, a sofa and a really warm welcome.
The pool bar has a pool table and dart boards and big screen for sport, karaoke, slide shows etc.,
Jacks Railway Bar is named after Jack Olohan, Father of the present owner, Ray. Jack was a legend in his own lifetime, sadly, Jack is no longer with us, but the family are still here and try to continue to provide the warm welcome and friendly atmosphere started by Jack.
Jess Olohan and son in law Phillip, run the pub and try to create a fun armosphere with the rest of the family, Ray, Nessa ciara and Kate. You might be lucky to be there on a night when Ray takes out the Guitar and then the session starts........traditional irish music every Thursday night
