This is a centuries old family-run pub situated on the Monivea-Castleblakeney-Ahascragh-Ballinasloe road. It ia about 9m/16km from Monivea, 4m/6km from Menlough and Mountbellew, 2m/3km from Castleblakeney and 8m/14km from Ahascragh. The first mention of this pub is in the 1770's when a Garet Ruan was publican. The oldest part of the house, in which the bar is situated, dates back to this time.
These family-run premises comprise of a beautiful front bar with open fire and a large lounge/function- room catering for a wide range of events such as birthday parties, auctions, meetings etc. There is also a small grocery shop. Tea, coffee and sandwiches are available on request
