About Us
Teach O Hora, Main Street, Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo is owned by Marty & Marie O Hora. It is a family run business with a bar, off-licence and restaurant.
There has been a bar on these premises for well over 100 years, with Marty's mother May and Father Aiden buying the premises and opening us as "Aidens" in 1967. Marty has worked with his father since doing his Leaving Cert in 1975 and in 1996 he and his wife Marie who joined the business, refurbished the premises and renamed it Teach O Hora.
Their 3 children, when old enough, joined the business, Rachel, Denise and Eamon as part time staff. Rachel is a qualified teacher in Irish and Home Economics, Denise is in University of Limerick doing Business Studies, Eamon is doing Business Studies in Sligo Institute of Technology.
We usually have entertainment for holiday weekends and all parties are catered for with discos and live music
The off-licence is open from 11.00am to 10.00pm Monday to Saturday, Sunday opening from 12.30pm to 10.00pm. We carry a large selection of all beers, stouts, lagers, wines and spirits.
The bar is open each day from 10.30am till closing, it has an old world theme with many unusual items such as a full life size cow as a back drop behind the bar, two open fires, an emigrants corner, an old concrete phone box, signage in Irish, a picture of the Sacred Heart over the fireplace are just some of the unusual items to be seen in the bar.
