The Ragg- what an odd name! Yes, It's been used since the Civil War and that's one story! There's another one which involves Poitin but you'll have to call to hear them both! The area around us is steeped in history and is well worth a visit.
We cater for all occasions and groups of 1 to 1,000! We open 7 days a week and do food 7 days a week. Sunday Lunch is special. Menus can be tailored to your particular requirements. We endeavour at all times to provide additive- free food, 100% Irish, where possible, which is sourced locally, where possible. We have 4 function/meeting rooms for any size group. Gift Vouchers from The Ragg are very popular.
We are family owned and run. We, along with all the special people who work here, who are naturally friendly and hospitable, try hard to make The Ragg genuinely welcoming and informal for all our customers. A quiet drink or a fun-filled party, thats us. Oh - and did we mention the Craic!
We are situated on the R498, 6km from Thurles on the Nenagh Road. We are on the main route from Shannon and the Mid-west. The Rock of Cashel, HolyCross Abbey, Loughmore Castle, Pallas Hill Open Pet Farm and The Devils Bit are just up the road. We are also adjacent to Semple Stadium, Thurles Greyhound Track & Thurles Racecourse. We also have an excellent local GAA Grounds & Clubhouse beside us. The County Camogie Grounds are also within our sight.
